In the last half of this month, China remains active in maritime affairs. On July 15 and 16, Chinese UAV flew around the Japanese air space. On July 25, Chinese submarine rescue ship crossed the Tsushima Strait for the first time. China and Russia are planning joint military exercise starting in August.<\/p>\n

In diplomatic move regarding the maritime security, Japan and the EU held the summit meeting on July 23. In the meeting, the Leaders of Japan and the EU affirmed the importance of upholding international law to promote peace and security in the free and open Indo-Pacific.
\nThey also emphasized the importance of the freedom of navigation and overflight and the peaceful resolution of disputes in accodance with international law. They also stressed their serious concern about the situation in the East China Sea and the South China Sea and strongly opposed any unilateral attempts to change the status quo by force and coercion. They underscored the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
